High School Studio Art
Treasure Island
Fall 2012, Primary through Upper Middle School students read Treasure Island. Our Intermediate students created these pictures of the Hispaniola, Captain Flint and a pirate.
William Shakespeare
In February 2012, we started our study of Shakespeare - beginning with his life and times before we embark on the adventure of reading his work, The Tempest. We all do this together - Primary through Upper Middle School through parents! These pictures are illustrated by our Primary students who also had a wonderful time acting out A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Illuminated Letters and Latin Proverbs
Our Lower Middle School students enjoy weekly art classes in which they get to explore art from the Renaissance. In January 2012, they applied their budding calligraphy skills to Latin proverbs and added the fancy flourishes of illuminated letters. A favorite part of the process was getting to use gold leafing!
Primary Art
Our Primary classrooms are full of the colors and creativity of students!

California History Mission Art
Our Intermediate students have the opportunity to take a California History Enrichment Class. This art and literature based class also includes field trips and cooking. Students enjoyed a visit to Mission San Luis Obispo in December which they later drew.
Renaissance Inspired Artwork
In fall, 2011, our students created art inspired by the great masters of the Renaissance. Students chose an artist, studied their life, picked a work, and then recreated it with their own individual style. The projects were displayed at our Renaissance Tableau History Celebration.
